About the race...

The Chilly Chili run was started by Bill Read, Larry Nelson, and Deb O’Rourke as a "get out of the house and get rid of cabin fever" fun run. Bill, Larry, and Deb were going to retire in 2002 after 15 years of directing the race. They decided to come back one more year.

The race is run on the Lake Run’s Inner Loop course, which, due to the time of the year, is frequently snow-packed and icy. After the race, runners are packed into the Green Gables store/bar where they enjoy homemade chili and drinks.

The race features some of the more unique award categories. In addition to the top male and female runners, awards are given to the least dressed (Speedo's & bikinis have won this in the past, despite an actual temperature of one below zero in 1997!), best dressed, and other interesting categories.

All you can eat chili and free drink. "Same crappy cheap door prizes, if we can find any." This race will not be affected by adverse weather.
