Run or walk the 4th annual 5K for United Way that starts and ends at Caterpillar in Pontiac and winds through 4H Park.
Welcome to the Second Annual PATH Crisis Run/Walk. The proceeds from this benefits will help aid Adult Protective Services in their investigation of abuse allegations for those 19-59 with a disability and anyone over 60 years of age in McLean and Livingston County.
The Robin Vogel 5K and 10K run/walk is being held to honor and remember Officer Robin Vogel. Robin was a Decatur, IL Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty. Robin’s patrol vehicle was struck by a drunk driver on 10/1/05. Two days later on 10/3/05 she succumbed to her injuries suffered in the accident. The money raised from this event will go towards a scholarship in Robins name that will be given to a High School senior in the Decatur/Macon County area. Also a portion of the money raised will be donated to the National Law Enforcement Fallen Officers Fund in Washington DC.
|Every third Sunday in October is our Annual Oktoberfest 5K Run and 1 mile Fun Walk! This year it is Sunday October 21, 2018. This run/walk is a fundraiser to support BN Sunrise Rotary’s Youth Services and the CCHS Rotaract Club.
The run is a chip-timed 5k on the Constitution Trail from GE park, looping through Tipton Trails, and back to GE park. Blacktop trails the whole way.
At the end celebrate with free brats, Oktoberfest and regular beer (for those 21 and over), accordion music, and an awards ceremony with fabulous ceramic steins for the top three in each 5k age group (10 year groups). Food-and-beer-only option also available, so bring the whole family, even the non-runners! Costumes are sported by several participants, though there is not a costume competition…yet.
