Here are some explanations
of each volunteer activity:
General Help, Race Registration, Finish Line,
Split Timer, Water Stops, Lake Run Race
List of Names is typically provided to race directors and
finish line coordinators so you can be contacted to help
with various aspects of a race.
Kids Run for Fun,
Marathon Training,
Catch the Wave,
Ride the Wave, Adopt-A-Highway
List of Names is provided to coordinators of these
programs. See our website if you are not familiar with
these programs.
Help Photograph
This year we are looking for a pool of photographers to
take pictures for the newsletter and the website
One-time
Newsletter Articles
If you want to submit an article or two about yourself,
your favorite race, or you have some running information
you want to share with other runners, we would like to
hear from you. This is a good way to volunteer if you
cannot commit to helping at races or helping with other
programs.
Monthly
Newsletter Help
We are trying to provide some relief to our newsletter
editors so they can focus more on the technical layout of
the newsletter. We are looking for people to submit
monthly articles. One suggestion was a Kid's Corner
series that would recognize youth in the area.
One-time Admin Projects
An example of this would be helping with membership
renewals. Another example is helping send and compile
survey results. We would call you and try to match
interests.
Board
Activities
Indicate on your renewal if you are interested in getting
more involved in the Lake Run Club board and would like a
call to learn more.
Finish Line Coordinators, Finish Line Software
Coordinators
Indicate on your renewal if you would like more
information.
We need to expand our volunteer base in these two areas.
They are critical to making races go smoothly. Our goal
is to have one coordinator per race. This will allow our
existing coordinators to run more races. We are not there
yet. We still have several people that provide
coordination for multiple races per year. We could always
use more people to give these existing coordinators a
break.
We will provide you with the necessary training and will
surround you with experienced people to guarantee your
success.
Co-Race Director
Indicate on your renewal if you are interested in
learning more.
We are expecting some turnover in our current race
director base. Rather than letting those races die, we
want to develop new race directors this year. We will
pair you with existing race directors to give you all the
experience and training necessary.
Website Maintenance
We are periodically looking for people to support the day
to date updates. Indicate on your renewal if you are
interested in being on our list to contact if we need
someone.
