Ride the Wave

After you’ve caught the wave, it’s time to ride it. Ride the Wave is a fun and supportive 10-week program for members that begins in mid-February and runs through April. You’ll learn how to properly train your body to endure and enjoy longer runs, and at the end of the 10 weeks, you’ll be prepared for any of the Lake Run distances, including the 7K, 12K or half marathon.
- 10 weeks of guidance and training in preparation for the Lake Run 7K, 12K or half marathon.
- Registration for the Lake Run 7K, 12K or half marathon ($10 more for half).
- Lake Run race t-shirt
- Ride the Wave t-shirt
- Gatorade and water provided at each training session.
- Camaraderie with runners the same level as you.
Sessions for Ride the Wave are held on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm, meeting at GE Park. Runners are placed into pace groups, each with experienced leaders to coach and motivate you through the different weekly workouts. Ride the Wave is made up of both newcomers and previous graduates who come back to run with friends.
Runners must be a member of the Lake Run Club to participate in Ride the Wave. You will have the opportunity to join or renew your LRC membership when you register for Ride the Wave. Annual membership to the Lake Run Club is an additional cost and not included in the Ride the Wave fee.
