The Chilly Chili run was started by Bill Read, Larry Nelson and Deb O’Rourke as a "get out of the house and get rid of cabin fever" fun run. The race is run on the Lake Run’s Inner Loop course, which is frequently snow-packed and icy in January. After the race, runners are packed into Green Gables where they enjoy homemade chili and drinks.
The race features some of the more unique award categories. In addition to the top male and female runners, awards are given to the least dressed (Speedo's & bikinis have won this in the past, despite an actual temperature of one below zero in 1997!), best dressed and other interesting categories.
All you can eat chili and free drink. "Same crappy cheap door prizes, if we can find any." This race will not be affected by adverse weather.
This race is not part of the Lake Run Club Circuit and is strictly a fun race. It's focus is more on the after race party.
